FDA — Traditional Food Products

Designing traditional food product labels can be difficult enough without having to navigate complex regulations filled with ambiguous language. This is particularly true for products manufactured overseas by an international supplier that has never exported to the U.S. and is unfamiliar with FDA regulations.

Non-compliant products can create serious issues for manufacturers and importers alike. Domestic producers and co-packers can be subject to warning letters, mandatory recalls, and more — all of which can stem from food that is adulterated or misbranded. Importers may also experience refusals at the port of entry that will prevent the product from entering the country.
